A handmade gift for Eid!

Did you have a nice Ramadan and Eid?
The have been keeping
busy in Ramadan making handmade gifts for Eid.
The present which took us most of Ramadan to complete
was a home for a family of handmade rabbits for our
little sister Sumayyah who's 5 years old.

The different rooms were made from empty juice boxes.
So here are the pics. Enjoy!

Above is the front of the home.

One of the best rooms in the home is the homeschooling room.

Next to the homeschooling room is the dining room.
The dining room has a door which leads to the back rooms.

A hat for my sister

I hope Ramadan is going by nicely for you all.

I have learnt to crochet alhamdulillah!
I felt like crocheting something after seeing my mother
crocheting blankets and granny squares. After that
I decided to give it a try.

What I did was, I went on YouTube and found this good, easy to follow
tutorial on how to make a hat. I decided to make it for my little
sister Sumayyah who's 5 and a half years old.

Here are the results.

My sister likes the hat and will inshaAllah wear it
in winter. I added a pom pom to the hat. This
isn't in the tutorial. I found another one for that,
just type in How to make a pom pom and hopefully
there will be lots of links you can follow.

Here is the first tutorial for the hat. It shows you
how to start the hat.

Below is the first row tutorial. Just keep following these
tutorials, there are lots of parts to this project.

Hope you enjoy it!

plus, we've got exams all next week! InshaAllah
we want to get back to crafting after that, especially in
the summer holidays and during Ramadan.

So do drop by again!

Art Club (part 4)

We had our last art class on Saturday. The group did 2
projects. The first was a painting with a sunset background
and silhouette foreground.

They used watery tempura paints for the sunset, thick
black paint for the foreground and black ink for
the branches which they made by blowing through a straw.

The giraffes and elephants were stamps. They had to make
sure they used alot of paint on the stamps so that
they came out well.

(Here's our mum's example below)

And here are the brilliant paintings the girls came up
with mashaAllah!

Next they made butterflies out of toilet roll tubes covered
in pretty paper. The same paper was used for the wings and
sequins, beads were used to decorate.
Pipe cleaners and pom poms
were used for antennas.

Zainabs butterfly is the one on the left with
the pointy wings.

We hope you have enjoyed looking at the projects.
