Zainab's Recycled Fruity Tree

 

 

Zainab has been collecting metal bottle tops and corks for a very long time.

So she decided to use them to do a recycling art project. You will need

the help of an adult for cutting the corks because they are difficult

to cut through.

 

 

Materials:

 

Canvas Board

 

Metal bottle tops

(or plastic ones if you like but

metal ones look nicer and shiny),

 

Corks

 

Strong glue

 (we used a hot glue gun

but you will need an adult to help you)

 

 

First of all Zainab arranged the cork pieces onto the plain

canvas, you could paint the canvas first if you like. She made the trunk,

from the corks which were cut in half. This makes them easy to stick.

Then the corks were cut into circles for the branches.

After placing the tree trunk and branches down, she

arranged the different coloured bottle tops around the tree.

Each colour is a fruit, the light green ones are green apples,

the blue ones are blueberries, the red ones are cherries and

the dark green ones are the leaves.

 

Once everything was in place the pieces were hot glued to the canvas.

 The birds were circular cork pieces cut in half.

The corks were also cut into strips for some

of the fruit that are hanging from the tree

and for the ones that have fallen onto the golden ground.

Art Club (part2)

Here is part 2 of our Art Club posts.

 

This week the girls worked on some milk bottle monsters.

Our mother had an example of a monster she had made.

They were each given a milk bottle,some other stuff like

pipe cleaners (for the arms), buttons, plastic eyes, wool(for hair),

sequins to decorate, beads, fabric (for clothes) etc.

 

The bottles were cut in the middle to make the mouth.

Holes were made in the sides of the bottles so the girls

could put the pipe cleaners through.

 

They painted them in the colours of their choice.

Look at the wonderful monsters!

Art Club

 

We've been busy assisting our mother at her Art and Crafts lessons.

It's been alot of fun. There are 11 girls altogether. Zainab is one of the members.

The ages of the girls are from 4 to 11.

 

Last week the children did a masking tape abstract painting on canvas.

What you do is, you tape over the canvas at different angles. The parts of the canvas which are showing are the parts you paint on. The girls also added glitter,but you can skip that part if you like. After the paint dries you remove the tape.It shows a very nice design afterwards.

This week the girls used a heart template to draw around. They could

use it in different angles. They coloured it using either felt tips, pastels, crayons, what ever they wanted.  Afterwards they stuck down beads, pom poms, sequins etc.

It was cut out of a cereal box.

 

They also painted cat masks. They really enjoyed this project.

It was interesting to see the various designs they came up with.

Right next door to the factory is a park.

Not a very healthy play area at all!

Opposite the factory is the Dead Tree Woods.

Next to the woods is the Farm.

Opposite the farm is the beach.

Rainbow Fish

 

We hope you had a nice Eid.

 

Here's an easy project to do with paper.

 

First I cut out the shape of a fish like below.

 

 

Then I cut out strips of different coloured paper. You have to make sure

all the strips of paper cover the shape of the fish completely.

Then paste them onto the back of the paper.

 

 

When you turn the paper over you can see how nice it looks.

I then drew on some bubbles.

 

 Hope you like it.
